In order to save some money, make sure to make your own castor oil packs. All you need are three layers of pure cotton which is large enough to cover the area which is affected, a bottle of hot water, an old towel, plastic wrap, sealed container and castor oil.

First of all, you need to fold the cotton so that it has four layers. Make sure the castor oil soaks through the first three layers and not drip all over the place. After that, apply the cotton directly on the affected area. Cover the cotton with plastic wrap and use the bottle with hot water to open the pores. In this way, the oil can dissolve in your skin.

Make sure to use a dilute solution of water and baking soda when you remove the wrap. Mix one tsp of baking soda with 4 gills of water. You are allowed to use these wraps for up to 30 times every day. In order to prevent rancidity, store the wraps somewhere dry and cool.

When you buy castor oil, pay close attention to the label since some oils are extracted from castor seeds which have been chemically processes, deodorized, extracted from hexane or sprayed with pesticides.
