Varicose veins can be extremely dangerous for our health since if left untreated, they can lead to the development of phlebitis which is a total obstruction of a vein due to the existence of a blood clot lodged in the vein. Moreover, a pulmonary embolism can also occur if the clot is directed into the pulmonary circulation. This is why we must treat varicose veins properly.
Luckily, there is an amazing treatment which is economic and natural, all you need is green or red tomato.
Tomatoes to cure varicose veins
The healing properties of tomato actually come from their seeds because they contain substance that acts similarly to aspirins. They have the ability to liquefy the blood since they are anticoagulants. Moreover, they also contain flavonoids which help strengthen the blood vessels.
With green Tomatoes:
Take several green tomatoes and wash them thoroughly. After that, cut them into slices of about 0.5 cm. Then, place the slices of tomato onto the affected areas, and after a while, you will feel a tingling sensation. This means that the veins will begin to burn slightly, so you need to remove the bandages.
In the end, rinse the area with cold water.
Repeat this method five times a day.
The results will be visible after just 2 weeks, you will get a relief from the burning sensation, the swelling will stop and the varicose veins will disappear.
With red Tomatoes:
This treatment should be performed at night.
First of all, wash the tomatoes, cut them into slices and apply them onto the affected area prior bedtime.
After that, secure the tomatoes with bandages.
Allow them to act for 4 hours.
After that, make sure to change the slices and replace them with new ones. Leave these to act for another 4 hours and so on until you have to get up.
Do this treatment every night.
In order to get the best results, besides using these methods, you need to have a healthy and balanced diet as well.
For instance, you need to intake foods rich in Omega3 and Omega6: since these oils are not produced by the body, you need to add them to your daily diet. Omega 3is anti-inflammatory and it helps the flexibility of the veins, while omega 6 prevents heart disease, blood clots and lowers blood pressure. They are mostly contained in food like nuts, sesame seeds, sunflower oil, sardines, cod, seafood and anchovies.
Make sure to consume selenium as well since it is an antioxidant that prevents hardening of body tissues and keeps elastic vascular walls. You can find it in eggs, mushrooms, brewer’s yeast, nuts and cucumbers.
Foods with vitamin E: consume more kiwis, pumpkins, parsley, nuts, tomatoes, whole grain olives, white meats, dairy in order to incorporate more vitamin E since it improves circulation and oxygenation of the blood, thus preventing and diluting blood clots.
