The information you’ll read in this article might seem like nonsense to you, but you should take it very seriously. If you’re often waking up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, you need to keep one eye closed. It may sound silly, but this will actually help you fall asleep again afterwards.
When the bright lights from the bulbs in your home strike both your eyes, your body may think it’s time to wake up and make it more difficult for you to fall asleep again. However, by keeping one eye closed, you will reduce the amount of light reaching your brain and allow it to adjust to the darkness later easier.
Here are some other useful tips that will make your life easier:
Preventing headaches by pulling your ear
If you’re suffering from headaches often, don’t massage your temples or reach for a painkiller. Simply pull your ear to release the tension in your head and relax your entire body. Just take your ear between the thumb and index finger and pull up and down gently. This will allow fresh fluid flow in the brain and reduce the pain.
Difficulty swallowing pills
If you’re having problems swallowing pills, put a pill in your mouth and tilt your head forwards before swallowing. This will activate the swallowing reflex and allow the pill to go down your throat easier.
Prevent brain freeze
Brain freeze (or ice-cream headache) of a brief pain or headache caused by cold beverages or foods. The pain occurs as the brain tries to protect itself from rapid temperature changes and is caused by something cold touching the palate. In order to relieve the pain, you need something hot – just drink a glass of warm water and the headache will pass.
How to make yourself cry
Not being able to cry even in the saddest moments in your life can be resolved by repeating the colors of a few objects in the room over and over again in your head. This will reduce your pulse and you will be able to feel distracted.
If your arms, legs or other body parts have become numb, you need to shake that body part or pinch it in order for the “needles” to disappear. However, this doesn’t work for the feet – in order to “unlock” your feet, you need to dance awkwardly.
Hiccups are usually caused by eating spicy food, big meals, swallowing too much air, changes of temperature in the stomach, etc. They are difficult to get rid of, but there is a trick that works! Open your mouth and swallow some air for a couple of times to relax the diaphragm and eliminate the hiccups.
Although almost all children are afraid needles, there are some adults scared of them as well. If you’re the unfortunate one, cough lightly the next time you’re getting a shot and the process will go without pain. The trick works by distracting the body in order not to register the pain.
