This Is What’s Really In A McDonald’s Hamburger
If you want to know what are you actually eating when you buy food in McDonald’s, whatch the video bellow. You will see that there are many hidden ingredients used in their food, different than the ones advertised. Their hamburgres contain excessive amounts of grease and as stated on McDonald’s website, the ingredients you will see in the video are contained in their popular McDouble sandwich.
High-fructose corn syrup and sugar, soybean oil or canola oil, yeast, enriched flour (Bleached wheat flour, malted barley flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), contains 2% or less: salt, wheat gluten, calcium sulfate, calcium carbonate, ammonium sulfate, ammonium chloride, dough conditioners( may contain one or more of: sodium stearoyl lactylate, DATEM, ascorbic acid, azodicarbominade, mono and diglycerides, ethoxylated monoglycerides, monocalcium phosphate, enzymes, guar gum, calcium peroxide), sorbic acid- a preservative, calcium propionate and/or sodium propionate ( preservatives), and soy lecithin.
These ingredients are harmful and some of them can even cause side effects:
High Fructose Corn Syrup– is filled with many contaminants. For instance, it contains mercury that is neither regulated nor measured by the FDA.
Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate can lead to food intolerance.
Amonium sulfate is a chemical byproduct of steel making and synthetic fiber production. Therfore it was one of the main sources of lawn fertilizer nitrogen until the price started increasing since 2004, which lowerd its availability.
Bleached White Flour – the process that makes the flour so clean and white has a byproduct called alloxan. Actually, alloxan is not added to the flour, but the grain is treated chemically and results in alloxan formation in the very flour.
Moreover, alloxan is a product of the decomoposition of uric acid. People use it in experiments by givin this poison which is used to produce diabetes to a healthy animals. Therefore, this substance causes diabetes due to creating an abundance of free radicals in pancreatic beta cells which it later destroys.
Azodicarbonamide– Singapore, EU and Australia banned this chemical, however, it is still used in America as a food additive and an improving and flour bleaching agent. Its role is to relax the dough in order dor it to maintain a good shape when it is devided in large-scale bakeries under preassure. This additive can cause allergic reaction in people who are sensitive to other azo compounds, such as food dyes. Azodicarbonamide is primarly used in the production of foamed plastics as an additive. In the UK, the Health and Safety Executive classified this substance as a respiratory sensitizer (a possible cause of asthma) and noted that these products should be labeled with the words ‘may cause sensitization by inhalation’.
Guar Gum – when ingested in large amounts can cause swelling and obstruction of the intestines and the esophagus, which is why it’s banned by the FDA.
Sorbic Acid – According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration this chemical is a potent irritant which can cause serious damage of the eyes, skin, and respiratory tract tissues when consumed in large amounts.
The mustard contains: distilled vinegar, water, mustard seed, salt, turmeric, paprika, spice extractive.
100% beef patty contains 100% pure USDA inspected beef, no fillers, no extenders. It is prepared with grill seasoning-salt and black pepper.
The pasteurized process American cheese contains: water, cheese culture, sodium citrate, milk, cream, and 2% or less of: salt, citric acid, sodium phosphate, Sorbic acid, lactic acid, acetic acid, enzymes, sodium pyrophosphate, natural flavor, color added, soy lecithin (added for slice separation).
The ketchup contains: tomato concentrate from red ripe tomatoes, high fructose corn syrup, salt, water, distilled vinegar and natural flavors.
The pickle slices contain: cucumbers, water, distilled vinegar, salt, calcium chloride, alum, potassium sorbate, natural flavors, polysorbate 80, and extractives of turmeric.
